DON ZELLA Set To Headline SARAJOY’s Birthday Extravaganza Stateside- Businesswoman cum Artiste Sheila Patience, popularly known as Don Zella, is in the States gearing up to headline popular social media queen, Sarajoy Bakanansa’s birthday celebrations later on today, 31st March 2017.
Although the celebration party is scheduled for today, Sarajoy’s birthday was actually on 17th March 2017.
Speaking to both ladies, they have promised Bostonians a whale of a time at the event scheduled to take place at Rhino Lounge in Waltham, Boston. They have extended an invitation to all those celebrating their birthday this month so come and join in the celebration party.
Don Zella is excited about performing at the event and has talked of new material she has been working on. This event will be an insight into what the #Nyinizo singer has in store for her fans later on this year. She is working on putting together some concert dates for Uganda, Dubai, Denmark, so far; to be revealed next month.
If her past hand in putting together successful events is anything to go by, the promotion “Don” is sure to dazzle us with her magic touch when it comes to staging her own concerts.
With the two ladies coming together today to make it a memorable celebration party, we decided to take a sneak peek into the life of the “Birthday Girl”.
Always at hand to speak up on the good, the bad and the downright controversial, the beautiful birthday girl, Sarajoy Bakanansa is not one to mince her words.
A straight-talker, she is not shy to offer advice where she feels is deserving but at times she is misunderstood.
This petit, baby-faced ‘Heart Of Gold’, just wants to selflessly share the tools that have made her very successful and live the life that so many only dream of – a life filled with everything she could ever want.
The sometimes strong hand is just a reflection of her frustration when she sees those who can make a difference in their lives miss out on realising their potential, when it is within reach.
One thing you can be certain of when it comes to Sarajoy Bakanansa, is that:
‘There Is Always A Lesson Behind Everything She Says…’
❓Who Is Sarajoy Bakanansa
Sarajoy Bakanansa comes from a family of eight. My father is late but still blessed with a loving, caring and selfless mother. Studied from Our Lady Of Good Counsel school, Gayaza, Namirembe Hillside and later joined Sikkim Manipal university in India for both my Bachelor’s Degree and Masters Degree.
❓How Was Life Like Growing Up
Life growing up was not black and white, only it had many shades of grey. Having lost my father at a young age it was tough at times but I am proud of my mother because she managed.
❓Where Are You Currently Based
I am currently based in Massachusetts where I’m pursuing a PHD.
❓What Is Your Line Of Work
I am a Marketing Professional and a Behavioural Change Specialist in areas related to Alcohol Use and Drug Abuse.
❓How Did You Get Into Your Profession
I wanted to study a course that I would relate to and be able to apply what I studied in my daily life. That’s why at most my Bachelor’s and Master’s I passed with a second class upper accreditation, and it was my best time studying what I loved.
❓Did You Always Know From The Offset Which Direction You Wanted Your Life To Take
No, I wanted to be become a lawyer, and my friends thought I would make a good lawyer but circumstances never let me because at around that time I was offered another course and because my mother she was sick at that time, she couldn’t pay for me to study law.
❓How Did You Cope With Not Being Able To Pursue Your Dream
I can say, that dream didn’t die off; later in life I still wanted to study law but was going for my masters at the time, so was unable to do so.
Instead I decided to live my dream through a young girl who had passed her senior six very well, was passionate about studying law but also lacked tuition. She is now a second year student at Cavendish University, Kampala. I can finally say I am living my dream.
❓Kudos To You For The Support You Are Giving To The Young With Their Fees. Do You Have Some Sort Of A Foundation
In future I will start up a foundation. Today I am paying school fees for three girls but will add on more as my finances allow me.
❓Your Birthday Celebration Is Coming Up. What Is The Theme
My birthday theme is ‘Strong Looks Best Naked’. I believe in appreciating and loving who you are.
❓Who Will Be Performing
Expect special performance from Don Zella performing her new album and Dj Heavy Q will be spinning the discs.
❓A Big Supporter Of Don Zella We Can See. How Would You Describe Her And Your Friendship
I am not fan, we are friends who have walked through some situations and stand by each other.
❓What Can We Expect From The Celebrations
We have a fashion show to kick start off our celebration, its dubbed ‘Dashiki African Fashion Nite’. Then after the party will kick off.
It so happens that I share the same birth month with Arthur Tainment and Charles Muvawala, so it’s going to be massive and we want to set a new trend of how to party and celebrate life.
Bostonians are very busy people but we encourage them to all come out in large numbers.
❓You Have Been Known To Speak Your Mind, What Life Lessons Can You Offer
Life is all about simplicity. I set the rules and live by them. I’m never a people pleaser though I am very generous.
Always focus on things that make you happy and give them 100 percent. Be good to others. Give without expecting anything back.
❓You Are A Very Hardworking Lady, What Drives You
My marketing profession matches with my personality. I am a go-getter and I never compromise till I get results.
I’m hardworking because I love good things in life and I know they never come free. I hate having to depend on other people for things I can provide for myself.
My life is expensive so I work hard to meet the demands if my expensive life.
❓Were You Always A Go-Getter
Yes, I have always been a Go-Getter. I never take NO for an answer. When I see opportunities, I run after them and take them.
❓The Strength, The Confidence, The Pride In One’s Ability To Excel. Where Does It All Come From
The confident one takes it all. It all comes from me wanting to be the best, self love and believing that I am better than who I am today.
❓What Advice Do You Have For Your Fellow Women
My fellow ladies need to learn to work and stop with the mentality of wanting free things or of being on the receiving end. It’s easy to be disrespected by anyone because your value addition is low or none.
❓You Pride Yourself In The Way You Look, Do You Do Some Modelling Work
I used to do modelling way back but not now. I have been asked again and I am looking at my options.
❓How Did You Get The Nickname “The Amber Rose Of Uganda” Or Is It Because Of The Obvious
When I cut off my hair, I put up my pictures on social media and bloggers started calling me the Amber Rose Of Uganda. It was fun and I ran away with it.
❓Some Have Penned You Down As Just ‘A Socialite Hungry For Likes’. What Do You Have To Say To Them Today
Socialites hungry for likes….lol. This world is full of so many unhappy people who refuse to mind thier own business. My philosophy is to live everyday as though it’s my last, so already I have no time for people who hate themselves and feel bad whenever they see happy people.
❓What Has Been Your Biggest Challenge In Attaining Your Goals
So many negative people who keep telling you that it’s so hard, you can’t do it, but thank God when I set my mind to do something nothing can stop me.
❓There Is Always A Lesson Behind Everything You Say. However, You Have Had Some Critics Voice Their Dissatisfaction In Your Approach. Ever Thought Of Softening The Blow
I cant make the whole world happy. If you dont like what I say or do then it’s your problem not mine.
❓Are There Any Wedding Bells Ringing In The Not-So Distant Future
I am not the marrying type. I love being in a good relationship. Marriage sometimes spoils what has been good. I believe in if it’s good don’t fix it.
Maybe if I get the right reasons to marry then I can reconsider. If I did it now it will be for my own selfish reasons.
❓What Does The Future Hold For Sarajoy
My future has, building a housing estate in Uganda, helping more kids go back to school and starting a family.
